It’s March in CNY, so naturally, we think of all things Irish, right?
When you think of Ireland, you can’t help but think of Irish dancing (in addition to the food and drinks too!)
Right here in the Village of Liverpool, we are lucky to now be the home base for the Butler-Sheehan Academy of Traditional Irish Dance.
They rehearse out of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church on Vine St. and they are looking for new members (beginners and skilled) to join them in the fun of traditional Irish dance.
The academy is run by Pattie Sheehan-Malinowski T.C.R.G., who studied for most of her life under expert Irish Dancer Mr. Patrick Butler, before he passed in 2007.
Patti now carries on his skillful tradition at the Butler-Sheehan Academy. Under her direction, students have fun while perfecting the art of the Irish dance! They participate in local parades, shows and festivals.
If interested, classes for 12 and under are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30pm to 6:30pm.
For ages 12 and over, they are held on Tuesdays from 6:15-8pm and Thursdays from 6:30-8:30pm. All Syracuse classes are held at St. Matthew’s (900 Vine St.).
Please contact the instructor, Pattie Sheehan-Malinowski, at (315) 457-8172 if interested in joining the Butler-Sheehan Academy of Traditional Irish Dance or visit their website at http://www.butlerdancers.com. You can also find them on Facebook at Butler-Sheehan Academy of Traditional Irish Dance.
