Where to Eat

Where to eat in the Village of Liverpool? I’m sure if you have visited, or lived here, that is one of the questions you may have asked.

There are lots of great places to grab a quick bite, dine with a sweetheart or enjoy a night out with the family in Liverpool.

Below are some of the Village favorites…

The Retreat…. one of the most popular restaurants in Liverpool and the surrounding area.  It is the place to go for parties, for dinner with friends, for family gatherings, or even for a quick bite.  In the summer you can party on the patio with live music and great food and drinks, and in the winter, you can cozy up by the fire and watch the game.  The Retreat is unique in it’s dining experience because of it’s dining options.  You can dine in the more casual side with large televisions, the bar and a comfortable relaxed atmosphere.  Or, if you are looking for a more formal atmosphere (don’t worry, not too formal, just no large tvs!) you can dine on the dining room side that has beautiful art, warm fireplaces and I must say, gorgeous decor during the holidays!  Either way, you are bound to enjoy your Retreat experience.

Heid’s… Everyone’s favorite! One of the most famous hot dog joints in the country. Really. Just ask someone. Since 1917, Heid’s of Liverpool has been a hot dog-HOT-spot for thousands of visitors each year.  People travel from all over the state to get the Heid’s experience.  One of the few drive-ins of it’s kind left in the country, Heid’s offers great food, great fun and a great experience!  Oh yeah, and when you are done with your delicious hot dog, you are right next door to Heid’s ice cream shop, Sweet Treats!  As you can imagine, the parking lot is packed in the summer!

Cafe @ 407… The Village was extremely pleased to welcome Cafe @ 407 into it’s community when they joined us in 2009. Set up as a way to fund the non-profit Ophelia’s Place, Cafe @ 407 is an extremely popular in the community, and outrageously comfortable place to cozy up in an oversized chair, enjoy a cup of your favorite latte and enjoy some extremely delicious food.  Despite the delicious deserts on the counter when you order, the food on the menu is quite healthy and will never leave you with regrets.  (PS- Try the chicken salad sandwich! YUM!)  It’s also a great place to host meetings, either in the front area, or in the back in the public meeting room.

Limp Lizard… Liverpool was thrilled to welcome Limp Lizard into the Village family. It’s a great place to gather either outside or in and enjoy great BBQ style food, as well as drinks with friends.  I’ve brought the kids there plenty of times. Although it is a hot-spot for motorcycles and those looking for a good time, it is family friendly and quite enjoyable for all!

The Cobblestone… One of the oldest buildings in the Village of Liverpool. Originally built in 1839, it was known then as the National Hotel. It has since been renovated several times, but it still maintains its old pub-style charm. At the Cobble, you can grab a drink with friends, host a party, hang out and play darts or pool and simply enjoy yourself, 7 days a week. There is 3 full service bars and you can enjoy yourself inside or out.

Empire Sub Shop…  A new and welcome addition to the Village of Liverpool, the Empire Sub Shop is a sister shop to the famous Oswego Sub Shop in the city of Oswego, NY.  If you’ve spent time in Oswego, you know how beloved this place is.  So far, Empire Sub Shop has lived up to that reputation. They offer delicious subs sandwiches, salads, desserts and more.
